I wasn’t planning on writing one of these posts but since half the blogging world is I thought I would give it a go. I’m a sucker for peer pressure. My goals for this year;
Personal ones
Stop eating crisps for breakfast (I’m doing that now, eating. not stopping)
Don’t drink alcohol for two days a week.
Take the dog for a long walk every weekend.
Buy a new boat
Save money every month and stop making impulse purchases, like boats for example……
Writing ones
Keeping my blog going and post once a week.
Finish the current edit of my book, do another one and then find a professional editor.
Work ones
Can’t post it, in case anyone from work reads it, but I have one.
Well there it is my goals, apart from the boat one, should be able to achieve them. How is everyone doing sticking to theirs?
Today, I don’t go for this kind of goals, but earlier I made short term goals, which made them more easy to reach and go for.

Probably far more sensible to make sort term goals. I do make those as well but wouldn’t make for an interesting bog, or in my case an even less interesting blog.

Maybe you could make the chapters as short term goals without any limit for how many chapters at all.

I’ve tried that but I don’t do it any more. I have a lot of deadlines at work if I set myself ones with my writing I just get even more stressed. With my current re-write I try to do 200 words a day before work but if I don’t manage it I try not to beat myself up about it.
For some strange reason word press had marked your comment as spam, which is odd as it didn’t mind the first one. I must make it a goal to check the spam folder regularly.

Sometimes we end up in the spam folders, no matter we don’t spam others. I do often find followers in my spam map too.
Just you feel good about your writing, all is good, Eric 🙂

Hi Eric, keep writing your blogs. I find them entertaining and it’s a good way to catch up with what’s going on in your life. I don’t make goals anymore. I had enough of targets and data driven workloads so wouldn’t voluntarily give myself expectations that I probably won’t achieve. I like your boat one and hope you do get another. Think of all those lovely summer days out on the water in peace and quiet. Bliss!

Thanks Pam, it would be great to have another boat.

Hi Eric, Happy New Year! I don’t have any goals for 2018 as such, apart from the step outside of my writing comfort zone. This will be happening very soon. Crisps are a very fine breakfast choice, in my opinion, but might I suggest you switch to Frazzles instead? They look and taste vaguely like bacon so definitely count as breakfast food 🙂

Umm frazzles for breakfast. Unfortunately I weighed myself today and it wasn’t good news.

Good luck on all of these. Some of them look really tough. Like the crisps one.

Eric, good luck with your goals! Keep working on them. Made a goal to write “something” everyday, and I’m sticking to it. 📚Christine
